I am Crystal and prior to traveling fulltime in a Class B RV, I owned and operated a couple of restaurants and meal subscription services. The meal subscription service was a specialized program to meet specific dietary needs and personal preferences. During this time, I expanded my knowledge and skills in preparing tasty, healthy meals for a variety of diets.
About 8 years ago, we began traveling full time in our small RV. While I like to enjoy local flavors and specialties, I love to cook. My kitchen is about 9 square feet. I prepare most meals in the RV.
My cooking appliances include an induction burner, a convection/microwave oven, and an instant pot. These three appliances allow me to bake, grill, stew, roast, saute, slow cook and pressure cook. I have specialized cookware that allows me to steam, grill and cook in the microwave.
Combined with this variety of cooking methods is a good selection of spices and seasonings, soI can create tasty dishes quickly.
Several years ago, we began planning an Alaskan Caravan. I knew that I would want to cook most of my meals and so began researching shelf stable ingredients, such as dehydrated and freeze dried fruits, vegetables and meats. I have modified many of my recipes to incorporate these shelf stable ingredients
